Great Space for Events in Bucharest - The Alternative Cultural Center

Recently returned to Bucharest for the summer holiday, I visited the Alternative Cultural Center at 4 Dianei St. (Rosetti Square), opened by my very good friends Iulia and Costin Militaru. They leased and refurbished an old mansion, with the purpose of turning it into an alternative space for cultural events and more. Which they successfully did.

My ingenious friends didn't revamp the place in the traditional way, covering the walls with plaster and annoyingly common paint, but preserved part of the original wallpaper and frescoes, nicely creating a contemporary-French old times feel. It's cool, it's quaint, it's inspiring and inviting.

The first floor is, as you can see, finished and ready for all kind of events. Several poetry readings and music gigs have already taken place here. The owners are currently working hard on finishing the basement, which is going to function as a space for trainings, book launches, presentations, workshops, seminars, and so on. Until then, the first floor is just as good for that.

They serve beer, wines, cocktails, juices, sodas, coffee, and tea, as well as ice-cream and fresh lemonades. The center is equipped with A/C, videoprojector and PA system. Whatever they don't have yet, the owners will provide by request for the events organized here.

There are around 10 tables one the quaint terrace. Or maybe more. I think I should visit again to get the right number and sip my favorite beer. There's no alternative to this place.
