CAR HIRE

There is no self-driven car hire service in Vietnam. International driving licenses are not accepted. Visitors can hire a car with a local driver. Only long-term foreign residents are allowed to drive. Most companies require a debit/credit card, as well as identification. Almost all hotels and travel agencies in Saigon offer car rental services. The travel offices in the Pham Ngu Lao area offer the lowest prices.

The average price for renting a car that comes with a driver is about $50 or $60 per day. Prices are sometimes negotiable.

BIKE HIRE

Bikes are available for approximately $5-$10 per day. Standard bikes cost around $50/month, while automatic bikes are $75/month. Most rental companies will not ask for your driver’s license. If you are in Saigon, Motorbike for Rent signs are lined up all along Pham Ngu Lao, De Tham, and Bui Vien streets.
